There are many concepts and strategies when advertising a home-based business, but are they truly the right way?
So many people get started in the home based business industry on a daily basis, but do not take the time to learn how to successful build a profitable home-based internet business.
The main focus needs to be on advertising.
Let’s face it..
You can have the best products, the best compensation plan, the best mentor, the best strategies. But if you do not know how to advertise and get your message in front of your target audience and the right time, you are just going to give up and quit on yourself.
Without further ado, let’s dive right in.
Finding your target audience to advertise too.
I am going to start here because this is the start and most important part of advertising your home based business.
There are only a certain group of people who want what you have to offer and there is a certain window of opportunity to get your message to them.
Don’t you agree that it will be a waste of time trying to sell flip-flops to an Eskimo?
Trying to sell weight loss products to anorexia person?
How about promoting a home based business opportunity to someone who loves their job.
I just wanted to bring this to your attention and help you understand who you are advertising too.
So, How do we find the our target market Mike?
That’s a great question, and I am glad you asked.
Let me explain…
Who would be you’re ideal prospect?
For example if you are promoting a home based business opportunity, you would most likely want to advertise to people who are looking for a new career, a better job or people who hate or lost their job. Or you can target the highly competitive keywords, such as work from home, home based business or make money online.
These people would be most likely to become a lead and interested in your business, if you can get you’re message in front of them at that particular time in their life.
You will have a better chance to convert an ideal prospect into a lead then into a team member or customer.
Remember we are problem solvers that are advertising a solution to their problems.
So before you start advertising, take a step back and ask yourself, who would be most likely person to join my business or buy my products.
Once you know who you will be advertising to, it is easier to write you message that speaks directly to them.
The two types of marketing / advertising.
There are TWO types of advertising.
Outbound marketing and Inbound Marketing.
I am by no means recommending or affiliated with this company.
I just think their video makes a good point and wanted to share it with you.
The difference of the two is as clear as night and day.
Outbound marketing consists of YOU having to go out there, find your ideal prospects and get them to listen to your sales pitch.
Inbound Marketing is creating content that attracts the ideal prospects to you.
I personally think inbound marketing is the most effective way to advertise, and here is why.
People HATE to be sold but they LOVE to buy stuff.
It is just about impossible to sell something to someone who has no interest in buying it, or is not ready to make a purchase decision.
But on the flip side, when you are focused on inbound marketing it is pretty easy to sell stuff, just because they’re searching for it and are ready to buy.
Inbound marketing is more work but it pays off in the long run, while you can see results faster with outbound marketing, you will get more rejection and burnt out a lot faster.
You just need to decide what avenue you want to take and just go with it.
Ways of advertising.
There are 101 different way to advertise.
I can only share and teach you what I know and what I have been perfecting and mastering over the last 3 years.
Keep in mind that the easiest way of advertising is not necessarily the most effective way.
Most new marketers think that spamming their links in social media groups, advertising to their family and friends on Facebook or sending out a tweet on twitter is effective advertisement.
It is usually NOT but it can be, highly effective if you are advertising to your target audience in those groups and not just everyone and anyone.
With that being said, let me explain to you what I do to advertise my home based business.
I am a HUGE fan of inbound marketing, my main focus of advertising is by blogging.

The main fundamentals of advertising with a blog.
- Keyword research. (finding my target audience)
- Creating content. (delivering my message to my target audience)
- Advertising my blog post. (expanding my reach to even more targeted prospects)
Blogging does take work and time to see results. But it is worth it.
Unlike posting ads on social media that are only effective for a few hour, blogging is effective for a few months if not years to come and is out there working for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
Yeah it will take you a few hours to do your research and write the post but it is well worth it.
This is Modernized Lifestyle’s way of advertising a home-based internet business.
Over the past few years online, I have tried just about every way of advertising known to man or women.
I tried all the outbound marketing strategies and was on the verge of quitting.
Turns out my family and friends are NOT interested in building an online business. I found out the hard way.
Now thinking back to then. What the hell was I thinking?
If they did buy my products or join my business, they would just give up and quit within the first 2-3 months.
I would have had a better chance just begging for a hundred bucks from each of the.
You live and learn. Right?
I am shy, so I was not going to talk to random strangers.
Did not want to host home or hotel meetings.
Spend hours on the phone, 3 ways calls just seemed like a waste of time to me.
But hey I tried all of those strategies over and over again and again, with the same results. NONE.
I needed a more effective way to get my message in front of the people who are able and willing to buy what I am selling.
Instead of giving up and quitting like most people would have. I stopped what I was doing and started fresh.
I found a new mentor and invested in training that taught and showed me, how to be more effective.
This was back on 12-27-2012 I made that decision. If I was going to become successful, I need guidance, support, a team and a mentor that was going to be there for me.
Looking back now, it was the BEST decision I have ever made and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
